At the Interview
Be on time and make sure you ask for the right person, make sure your mobile is turned off, relax and enjoy the experience introduce yourself confidently but in a friendly way. Always make eye contact and smile ensuring you are listening at all times, if the interviewee makes a joke smile but keeps it professional, never swear even if the client does and never make negative remarks about your previous employer. Relate your experience with the role they are interviewing you for talk about your experience but keep to the point answer the questions, you do not want to be seen as being to “chatty”.
Ensure your listening skills are at the forefront, as you near the end of the interview try to get feedback this way you can start to gauge if you are matching the individual they are looking for. Ask if they have any concerns with you in the job this will give you a true indication if they have, if so try then to overcome those concerns this is your chance to make that lasting impression.
End the interview with your positive points on why you would like the job and how you feel that you are right for the position and the company. Remember they are looking for someone that wants to work for them and can show that ability.
Finally – Enjoy the experience.
